I built this project for myself, to get off the couch. I've been enjoying life without a car for 20+ years, and after leaving corporate life I started researching field trips reachable by SEPTA, PATCO, and NJ Transit. The itineraries piled up, so I turned them into field cards: a transit station, a walking loop, a stop for coffee, lunch, historic places to experience, and a way back.
A word about how this was made, because I want to be open about it. I'm a former reporter — the walking, the photos, and the experiencing are mine. But the research pipeline behind each destination is built on AI, and I don't see any reason to pretend otherwise. I research destinations, run them through a "living history scout" pipeline, filter the results through taste profiles I wrote — independent cafes, micro-history, architectural texture, civic spaces, no chains, no bars — and the field card gets written from those layers.
This preview includes only the destinations I've actually walked and photographed, often with my wife Emily, who's very supportive of my nonsense. More get added as I scout them. If you find something the scouts missed — a better cafe, a new bookshop, a site that deserves more attention — that's reality.
Thanks for trying this out!

This is a preview. Dozens more destinations are researched and queued — each one joins the site after it's been walked and photographed. The website is always the freshest version.
